Wool is a natural fibre and science is yet to produce anything that equals it; both extremely breathable and naturally elastic. As long as there is grass to graze on, sheep will produce a new fleece each year, which makes it a fantastic renewable resource. Environmental credentials don’t stop there - at the end of its useful life, wool will relatively quickly decompose back into the soil releasing valuable nutrients, whereas most synthetics are extremely slow to degrade. Highly absorbent, it retains dyes richly whilst remaining colourfast, without the need for chemicals. The protective waxy coating makes wool products resistant to staining, and they pick up less dust as it’s naturally anti-static.
